How Much will your Website Cost?

The cost of a website can be quite accurately estimated on this page where we have broken the main website costs down into separate components.

You can select the items you require and add them together to get a a final estimated cost for your website.

Bear in mind that this estimating tool can only be used for static website pages, which are standard pages like this one. In other words information pages with text and images.

Initial Website Design Cost

The cost of a website includes the work involved in developing the initial design.

This includes the masthead, the structure, the navigation menu, the styling and any additional graphics that may be required.

Standard HTML Website Pages

Website pages can be extremely large (not advisable) or quite small. The amount of text and image content on the page will affect the price but for the purpose of this exercise a page can be treated as a standard unit similar to this page. When we have your final specification we can advise you of any changes as a result of page size or content (unlikely).

Note that this only applies for websites of up to about 15-20 pages. Call us for prices on larger websites.

Online Enquiry Forms

Online enquiry forms allow your website visitors to submit enquiries or their details to you. When they submit an online enquiry you will receive it as an email delivered to whatever email address you choose. The cost of these online forms is dependent on their complexity. The price quoted below is for a form of average size.

This would be one that asks the user for their name, address, telephone number(s), email address and comments. It may also ask for another four or five inputs. For example if you offer four different services you may want to offer a drop down box where the enquirer can select the one most appropriate. Most small websites would include one online enquiry form but you can have more if required.

Website Images

Most websites require a few images as eye candy and to make them look more attractive to the website visitor. We can use your images or supply images from our stock image sources. The cost of this will be included in the above unless your image requirements are highly specific and differ from the norm.

Cost of Basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

SEO is the process of optimising a website to help it get found on the main search engines (e.g. Google) when someone is searching using keywords for the product or service you offer. We build basic SEO into all of our websites at no extra charge.

Detailed SEO Including Keyword Research

If generating business through your website is very important to you then more advanced SEO (including full research of your keywords) may be required. This will depend on the size of your website as each page is optimised separately. The figure quoted for this would be for a website of about eight pages.

Note that you should not include this figure automatically. The extent of SEO required will be dependent on the business you are in. If you are tradesman in a small town and you only require your website to be optimised for your local area then the basic SEO listed above may be sufficient.

For example of you are a painter in Paignton then your website will be competing in a smaller marketplace and it may be quite easy for us to get it to rank in Google on a search for "painters Paignton".

Note also that we will be completely honest about your chances of gaining a high ranking and we will advise you on what you can do to improve this ranking yourself. Please feel free to call us to talk about this.
